Terms and Conditions

A good choice for students and help in their creative work. Reactive paper service will help you with this.

Borders Connect . is one of the UK’s leading distance learning providers. Our courses allow you to study at home in your own time, and at your own pace.

We endeavour to provide you with full information about the content of courses, any prerequisites for enrolment and our recommendations about the time required to complete each course.

In enrolling on your chosen course you are confirming that you have received enough information and are satisfied that the learning programme you have chosen is suitable for your needs and abilities.

Please note that our study programmes and materials are designed for adult learners. If you wish to enrol a student under 16 years of age, please contact one of our advisers to discuss this, and the extra support that may be required, before enrolling.

Our courses undergo regular redevelopment and updating. While we make every effort to ensure the information on our website is as up-to-date as possible, this may mean that the precise order in which material is presented in your course varies from the detailed outline given on our website or in our prospectus, although as a minimum the same material will still be covered. Course books may also vary occasionally according to availability and changes in syllabus requirements.

Delivery

Online courses are delivered to your email box within 2 hours of receipt of your enrolment details. Postal Courses are delivered by courier within 5 working days.

Your Quality Guarantee

If you are not fully satisfied that the learning objectives you agree with your tutor have been met, we will refund your fees in full, as long as you have completed all of your course assignments and sent them to your tutor for marking.

Your Course Fees

Your course fee includes:

  • course materials and course book/s, as described in course outline, supplied during the period in which the course is active,
  • individual tuition for 12 months from the date of enrolment*.

(*12 months is more than enough for most students to complete their studies. But if required you can buy a further year of study support at a minimal cost (£20). If you enrolled before 14th January 2013 the further study year was already included in your course fee.)

Unless explicitly stated in the course description, your course fee does not include:

  • additional reading material,
  • registration with awarding or professional bodies where relevant,
  • exam fees to awarding bodies (for courses with external exams only),
  • fees payable to examination centres (for courses with external exams only).

If you opt to sit an external examination, Borders Connect will provide you with such information as it has in its possession to assist you in making your examination arrangements.

Payment by Instalment

When paying by instalments there is an administration fee of £20. Course modules will be sent out in batches, as payments are received. Please note that instalments must be paid on schedule. If more than 2 instalment payments are missed consecutively the course will be considered cancelled, and no refund will be provided.

Cancellations

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a right to cancel your enrolment. If you decide to cancel your course we will provide a full refund if:

  • you contact us by letter, fax or e-mail within seven working days of receiving your materials
  • you return the materials (including course book/s) to us at your own expense
  • we receive the materials (including course book/s) back in re-saleable condition.

You will be deemed to have accepted the course if you do not notify us otherwise within seven days after delivery. Risk of damage or loss of your course materials will pass to you upon delivery.

Online Courses

Online course materials are supplied for use by the student identified during enrolment only. The student may save one copy of the materials on their personal computer and also print one copy of the material for their personal study use only. Materials must not be distributed in anyway, to other people or online. Breach of this condition will result in immediate cancellation of the course without refund.

Course Transfers

It is also possible to transfer to a different course if:

  • you contact us by letter, fax or e-mail within seven days of receiving your materials
  • you return the materials (including course book/s) to us at your own expense
  • we receive the materials (including course book/s) back in re-saleable condition.

You will be required to pay the difference in cost between your new course and your old one. Transfers are not possible after the seven day period has ended.

Change of Details

Please inform Borders Connect immediately of any changes to the contact details you supplied on your enrolment form. Failure to do so will mean that we are not able to provide you with course updates or further batches of study material in a timely manner.

Extension to Study Period

Courses run for a study period of 12 months. If you encounter difficulties that you believe may prevent you from completing your course within this time, please contact a student adviser at the earliest opportunity to discuss the situation. It is usually possible to arrange an extension of 12 months further tutor support. The cost of this is currently £20. If you enrolled before 14th January 2013 the further study year was already included in your course fee.
