I loved the practical focus in this course. It gave me a lot of useful ideas that I could apply straight away in school, and we’ve also introduced many new activities designed to help the children develop their emotional skills. The course really opened my eyes to the many different, non-verbal ways in which we can communicate with children, and just as importantly how we can help them to explore their own feelings and experiences in a supportive way.

The course shows students how to communicate with children effectively through play, and also shows how play can be a means of teaching children essential personal and social skills. The course also includes a clear outline of the theory of play and play therapy, as well as many practical suggestions on how play therapy can be used in different settings.
