Counselling Skills

A good choice for students and help in their creative work. Reactive paper service will help you with this.

This course introduces a range of counselling skills that may be beneficial in an education setting. It is ideal for teachers, lecturers and support staff who would like to develop a clearer understanding of counselling skills. More and more education staff are being called upon to play a counselling role, supporting pupils who are preoccupied, anxious or distressed. This course is designed to give you the confidence and skills to support such children effectively.

It includes a comprehensive introduction to the core counselling skills, taking a child-centred approach, and also includes specific guidelines on working step-by-step through a counselling session. The course ends by introducing additional ideas and techniques drawn from cognitive behavioural counselling that are most relevant to the school or college context.

The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are qualified counsellors and have experience in educational settings too.

Study topics include: active listening; interpreting body language; beginnings and endings; challenges of counselling children and young people; understanding extreme emotions, lessons from CBT. Includes all study materials, course textbook, Basic Counselling Skills, and full tutorial support.

Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On successful completion of the course students are awarded a certificate of course completion.
