Course Outline
The course covers the RHS syllabus very closely. Study topics covered include: plant selection and garden planning; establishment and maintenance of garden plants and lawns; soils and growing media; pests and diseases; production of outdoor vegetables and fruit; understanding and managing protected environments. Sitting the Exam
At the end of the course you will be ready to sit the RHS Certificate in Principles of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance, which you can do at an authorised examination centre in your area. (There is an additional fee for the examination.) Your tutor will provide personal support and advice to help you complete your assignments and prepare effectively for the exam.
How Long Does the Course Take
Students have up to 12 months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On average, however, it takes students around 10 months to complete the course, based on 3 – 4 hours study time per week. Students can also purchase an extra 12 months of tutor support for just £20 if required.
