What else has changed?

Nothing! We’re still offering the same courses and the same high level of tutor support. We’re still accredited by the ODL QC and working closely with a range of professional bodies, just as before. The only thing that’s changed is our name. Tutor email addresses also remain the same, and if you’re a student we’ll let you know in plenty of time when they change.

You’ve spent almost 15 years building your reputation, why change your name now?

There are a couple of reasons:

First, UK Companies House now has 31 companies listed with the words ‘Learning Curve’ in their name. Some of these companies are getting closer and closer to offering the same courses and services we have offered for many years, and it’s causing confusion for our students (and theirs). In an average week 40% of the calls we receive are from students of the other ‘learning curves’ – some of whom are not that great at student support, to put it mildly. We could engage in some kind of negative ‘legal battle’ with them but that’s not who we are. We’d prefer to focus on the future and offering our students the best possible services without any risk of confusion.
Which brings us to our second, much more exciting reason for changing – over the coming year we’ll be introducing a fantastic new range of services to complement our distance learning training. Our new name is a much better reflection of everything we’ll be offering.

We’re excited about 2013 and beyond, and the wide range of training and support we already offer to our students, with so much more to come.
